What is Humanistic Person-Centred (HPC) Therapy?
The basic belief of HPC is that each person is developing towards their potential, instead of dwelling on a person as having a deficit, due to past or present circumstances. This positive outlook is core to respecting the client where they are at each moment, and empowering the client in the work.
The therapist does not act like an expert of the client's experience but does aim to offer warmth, acceptance and honesty as the client explores his/her own truth. It is in this confidential environment clients are encouraged to grow and change, according to their priorities.

The length of the work is agreed between the client and the therapist – you can choose to work short, medium or long term.
The focus of the work is relational: how an individual recognises his/her way of being in the world, with others and with self. This exploration may create the opportunity for change, and movement towards realising one's potential.
